TRAIN SMART. DEVELOP WORK ETHIC. PRODUCE POWER.
ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT. Youth sports are more competitive than ever. Here at FIT we seek to improve motor control, core stability, and coordination through exercises, skill work, and games. Developing strong movement patterns at an early age will translate to improved performance regardless of the athletic endeavor of your child. Our youth athletic development program is geared towards kids ages 12 and under with the following focus:
1). MID-LINE STABILITY: Strength in the abdomen, obliques, and lower back are paramount to achieve optimal balance, strength, and speed. More importantly this prepares the body for proper strength training through the adolescent and teenage years.
2). FUNDAMENTAL MOVEMENT PATTERNS: Lower Body Strength- Introduce the squat, hip hinge, lunge and step up. Upper Body Strength - Develop the push-up, inverted row, overhead press, and pull-up.
3). FUN: Structured games and challenges will help develop cardiovascular functioning, coordination, agility, and speed in a unique and engaging way.
SPORT SPECIFIC STRENGTH. As athletes progress through middle-school, they have typically narrowed down athletic participation to 1 to 3 sports. The focus for teenage athletes is to improve strength and stamina, develop power and speed, and most importantly keep them healthy and in competition. Athletes are encouraged to train with up to 2 other teammates to as they work towards bettering their performance in competition.
Our training focus at FIT will shift depending on the competition season, with emphasis' placed on strength, flexibility, power, conditioning, and injury prevention. Each sport and season has specific needs, and we develop programs specific to the athlete's needs.
COLLEGE ATHLETE PREP. Functional Intelligent Training will work with your athlete who is committed to play their sport in the collegiate level. Working with the college strength and conditioning program, FIT will ensure that your athlete can train and compete at a high level upon entering the fall semester. This program was developed for two important reasons. The first is to ease the sometimes challenging transition between high school and collegiate athletics. With increased practice demands, a challenging academic workload, and improved competition, completion of the off-season prep work over the summer ensures that proper technique, conditioning, and strength have been attained prior to the collegiate season starting. The second reason FIT developed the College Athlete Prep Program was to help keep your athlete off the injury list while at school. While injuries are unavoidable in sport, proper strength and conditioning can mitigate the risk of overuse and acute injury. Your athlete will train hard with peers of the same sport as they prepare for the next step in their athletic careers.
